The Winner

I trained and trained
Until I thought I would drop,
But my teammate next to me
Just would not stop.

So although I was tired,
And feeling the strain,
I took heart from my teammate
And pushed through the pain

It was then that I knew
Down deep inside,
I would give all I had
Or should never had tried.

That thought spurred me on
To do so much more
Than I thought I could,
Or ever did before.

So that now when I train
It's for both of us you see,
Because you said you worked harder
When you looked at me.
